On July 15th, UNC School of Journalism Alumni and reporter for the Durham Herald-Sun, Katie Jansen, published an article entitled “TASTE OF TRAUMA: Teens get up-close dose of workings at UNC Hospitals”. This article summarized the activities Jensen observed while attending the annual “Trauma Day” held for the UNC Health Care Jr Volunteers this summer.
This interdisciplinary program utilizes numerous personnel from many departments within UNC Health Care to give these young people an amazing experience of what it is like to care for a patient following a trauma.
