Gene_SimBaby_OpsThe CSPSC team is happy to announce the approval of a new course designed for undergraduates that are interested in careers in health care. This entry-level medical simulation course focuses on understanding the integration of simulation technology into clinical education, patient safety, and research applications to include the teamwork and communication skills related to these applications (TeamSTEPPS).

The Department of Cell Biology and Physiology is listing this course in collaboration with the School of Medicine CSPSC team. CBIO 400: Introduction to Medical Simulation (Sim Ops) is being enrollment now for the Fall of 2015. The course is scheduled from 2:00 to 4:00 on Tuesday and Friday.

The Sim Ops course director is Mr. Gene Hobbs who serves as the SOM Associate Director of Simulation at the SOM Clinical Skills and Patient Simulation Center as well as Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics. Mr Hobbs brings fourteen years of simulation experience and an extensive research background to include over 70 abstracts, journal articles, technical reports, and book chapters to the course.
