UNC_HBH_ED_sim2015On February 8th, the Carolina Air Care training team lead a session for their new team members as a part of their ground school orientation. The ground school started in January following an exhaustive interview process that involved evaluation of candidate of skills. This simulation was intended to pull together medical concepts, management, and equipment handling skills covered in previous training sessions.

The case began with Carolina Air Care being consulted to transfer a stroke patient from the UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus to the UNC Neurological Hospital for treatment. The team arrived in the Hillsborough emergency department where they took over care. Upon arriving at UNC, the team managed the patient while moving to the computerized tomography (CT) scanner and handing off care to the stroke team.

Nice job team and thank you to both Leanne Reaves ‏and Josh Compton for leading and sharing this training session.
