Gillings_Complex_Emergencies_March_5_2016On March 31st, the Gillings School of Global Public Health summarized the “Innovating Global Public Health for Complex Emergencies” workshop that took place on March 5th.

“The workshop, “Innovating Global Public Health for Complex Emergencies,” engaged faculty members, Gillings School students, and professionals in a variety of fields related to emergency training and response to explore such topics as the use of technology to train health professionals; mental health needs of health professionals; how to monitor and evaluation situations in complex emergencies; and how the military can take part in humanitarian efforts.”

The program featured a interdisciplinary panel of simulation experts as well as including a tabletop simulation of logistics in management of a global health emergency.
