Drs. Jennifer Elliott and Dilshad Jaff from the Gillings School of Public Health presented at SwitchPoint on “Virtual Reality and Training for Complex Emergencies”. Dr. Jaff discussed lessons learned from his humanitarian work in Iraq. Dr. Elliott emphasized the advantages of Virtual Reality (VR) to prepare humanitarians for the reality they will face when working in armed conflict zones.
Following their presentation, the team also ran a micro lab where attendees were able to experience VR for the first time.
