Montross_1Happy Father’s Day! While many UNC fathers are spending the day with their families, former UNC Basketball star Eric Montross is hard at work with his annual basketball camp.

News 14 Carolina reported on the event that has benefitted UNC Children’s Hospital for 22 years. The camp was started as a way to honor Eric’s friend Jason Clark who battled cancer at NC Children’s.

One thing Jason wanted was a way to make the hospital more child friendly. The camp has been very successful in that goal. In recent years, the Montross campers and family have supported the UNC Children’s Simulation team with equipment utilized for many patient safety events throughout the Children’s Hospital.

Check out the News 14 video here. To view a list of projects the camp has funded over the years or to make a donation, please check out the camp web site here.

Thank you Montross campers and family for your continued support of UNCsim!
