Based on pilot research by resident Blair Herndon, and in collaboration with general surgery resident Joanna Grudziak, the CAPSEL team developed and implemented a multidisciplinary, formally evaluated, mandatory, hospital-wide, standardized central venous access device (CVAD) insertion course to improve outcomes and enhance patient safety.
