Trauma_Model_walkthrough1UNC Trauma Services held a walk-through of the newly redesigned “Trauma Resuscitation Model” on March 22nd. The purpose of the walk-through was to allow process owners the opportunity to test the redesigned process in a simulated, realistic setting with actual end-users. The ability to simulate the plan enabled the team to iteratively identify and correct latent faults in the model.

This project is supported by funding from the UNC Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement (IHQI) seed grant to “improve trauma resuscitations and build capacity for additional quality improvement work in the program”. Once the process is implemented, team members will undergo initial and ongoing role-specific training followed by regular team training. The team training will be simulation based trauma drills that occur in situ.
