On June 23rd, the Carolina Digital Health Research Initiative (CaDHRI) and UNC Health Sciences Library (HSL) held an event titled “Augmented Reality and Healthcare: Exploring Hololens for Clinical Care, Research, and Education”. The event featured Emerson Huitt, CTO of SciMed Solutions; Michael Thomas, Senior Systems Architect at the SAS Institute; and Dr. Austin Rose, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Rhinology, Allergy, and Sinus Surgery at UNC Health Care.

Attendees of the event were exposed to the Microsoft Hololens that is part of the HSL’s “digital health device collection” that will be available to library patrons in August.

Videos of the event are available for Mr. Thomas here and Dr. Rose here.

The CaDHRI promotes innovative use of digital health solutions to solve pressing patient-centered health problems.
