Cognition and Expertise: Nonrational Decision Errors and How to Minimize Them

April 7, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The very cognitive processes that make us experts also leave us vulnerable to error. This workshop will explore some of the human nature tendencies and decision influencers that are lurking in our subconscious, and preventing us from truly practicing evidence-based medicine. By some estimates, these kinds of cognitive errors play a role in up to 80% of diagnostic errors. This workshop will also explore strategies to prevent or mitigate harm from such errors.

All are welcome to attend this engaging workshop! Lunch will be provided, please RSVP:
