Fourth year student David Schaffer presented his project on “Trainee-Led Debriefing after Simulation in Medical Education” at the Medical Education Scholarly Concentration Program.

Schaffer observed sims at several hospitals and including the pediatric emergency department as well as UNC Childrens’ Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with Dr. William Mills.

In particular he concentrated on a recent summary publication by Canadian Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician, Dr. Adam Cheng. Dr. Cheng also serves as Chair of the INSPIRE Network which UNCsim joined in 2016. You can check out Dr. Cheng’s publication on debriefing by clicking here.

Thank you Dr. Gilliland for hosting the Medical Education Scholarly Concentration Program and encouraging such in-depth reviews by our amazing medical students.
